The Costa Blanca can be described as a paradise situated on the coast of Spain and belongs to the Alicante province of the country. Its locational advantage offers spectacular scenic beauty to those who visit this place. There are mountains on one side and long sandy beaches along the other. The city of Oviedo

The city of Oviedo lies in the northern part of Spain. There is a municipality named Oviedo and the city of Oviedo lies in it. It is the capital city of Asturias and a place worth visiting for many reasons. The city has a great history as it was founded in the year 761 A.D. However archaeologists believe that the human settlements were there in the area even in the first century A.D.

There have been significant developments in the city in the Roman, Visigoth and in all the other eras of Spain. There were many buildings made in the city in different eras many of which are still worth seeing because of their great architectures. Some of the famous buildings in the city include Camara Santa de Oviedo, Cathedral of San Salvador, San Miguel de Lillo, Basilica of San Julian, La Balesquida, Casa Consistorial, Dean Payarinos House, El Fontan Market, Santo Domingo Church and Monastery of San Vincente. Many of these buildings are built in the recent centuries and they are amusing because of their attractive appearance.

Oviedo is considered important in Spanish history because the Spanish forces fought in this city for three months in 1936 and they defended it well. One of the reasons of fame of Oviedo is that it hosts the Prince of Asturias Awards every year. The occasion is hosted in the famous Campoamor Theatre in the city. Many famous personalities from various parts of the globe witness this occasion in Oviedo every year.

The city of Oviedo is small, neat and clean. It is considered among the peaceful cities of Spain. There are around 210,000 people living in the city. It is at a height of 227 meters from sea level. The city is protected from the winds because it has Mount Naranco on one end and Aramo Range on the other end.

Excursions in Granada-Spain

Following are some of the major excursions in Granada:

Costa Tropical:

This area in Granada has number of beautiful bays and wide sandy beaches. The Sierra Nevada mountainous range is also visible from the sea and the views are breathtaking, as these mountains remain covered across with snow the whole year. This is a perfect place for swimming and skiing. The beaches in Costa Tropical include Salobrena, Alumnecar, La Herradura, Torrenueva, Calahonda and Castell de Ferro, which is famous for the Muslim fortress.

Pinos Puente- Montefrio:

Pinos Puente is an interesting village which is located at a distance of 16 kilometers from Granada and is known for the famous bridge which was built by Moorish.

Montefrio is located in the centre of hilly area and has a wonderful castle named Castillo de la Villa, which was constructed during the end of 15th and start of 16th centuries. This castle stands over the remains of an ancient fortress, constructed by the Arab ruler Aben-Ismail III. Other famous churches in the town are Iglesia de San Antonio and Iglesia de la Encarnacion.

La Alpujarra:

La Alpujarra is a hilly area located between the mountainous range of Sierra Nevada and Costa del Sol and known to be the best and beautiful place in Spain. The area is famous for many interesting customs and traditions, which combine both, the Christians and Moorish traditions. There are many beautiful valleys and villages in the area. Lanjaron is famous for the best spas and the spring climate.

Orvija has an ancient fortress called Counts of Sastago.

Soprtuja, Valor and Mecina are famous for their wonderful landscapes.

Alhama- Santa Fe and Loja:

Alhama is among the best thermal bathing options available in the area with some great views of Sierra Nevada. There are many historical baths of Arabs in the area, along with a great church called Iglesia Mayor. Los Infiemos water falls are also located near Alhama.

Santa Fe used to be a main destination of many Catholic rulers, during the time when they occupied Granada from Moors. Christopher Columbus also signed some contracts here before starting his journey to discover America.

Loja:

The location of this place is in the Genil River’s Valley and is the part of Granada Province. However, it is located very close to villa espagne piscine. Alicante is a wonderful place in Spain, where one can spend a memorable vacation. There are a lot of places to visit in Spain. It is mainly a coastal area, where you can find many beaches. There are also other places of archeological interest in Spain. Here we are going to read more about the museums in Spain.

The city of the Alicante is full of museums and art galleries. There are many good things worth watching in these art galleries and museums.

The Museum of Contemporary Art

This is a perfect mix of the new and the old. The museum dates back to 1687. This place was initially a granary and this is one of the oldest museums of Alicante city. This is the most famous art gallery of the city, where one gets to the see the majority of contemporary art collection. It displays the works of a good number of artists, including Picasso. There are no visiting charges applicable to this gallery and one can hire a guide, who can help them know more about the place.

Bonfire festive Museum

This is a wonderful museum to visit. The San Juan festival definitely attracts everyone. The people, who like that festival, will love this museum. Those who have not seen that festival will be wonderstruck to see the paper sculptures. There are a reasonable number of things, saved from the flames and are displayed in the museum. One can have a glimpse of the excellent craftsmanship, the colors that are used and the message that is tried to be passed on. Here one gets to see sharps that are really sharp and capes that swirl and also a lot of costumes that are very elaborate.
